Guidance on preparation of local IM&T plans for 2008/09

Guidance for the production of an information management and technology plan for the local health community in support of national and local service objectives. National expectations for the NHS are set out building on the existing investment in NPfIT and to strengthen local information and data management.
Information governance
Information Governance contains the set of standards that the NHS must follow to make sure that it carries out its duty to maintain full and accurate records of the care provided and keep those records confidential, secure and accurate.

Information for Social Care
The Information for Social Care project is part of the Social Care Quality Programme. It sets the Government's strategy for improving the information systems used by social services departments. Guidance for local councils about implementing the many proposed reforms. May also be of use to councils' partner organisations, private systems suppliers catering to the social care market, and the general public.

Data quality
The NHS Information Quality Assurance Consultation began on 25 March 2004. The paper outlines a national strategy for improving the quality of information in the NHS. It is a focused consultation with key NHS health informatics and data quality leads.
Information supporting NSFs and NCASP
National Service Frameworks (NSFs) each have complex information needs. Individual strategies have been developed to meet them. Also in this section is information about the National Clinical Audit Support Programme (NCASP), developed to meet immediate demand for comparative data in key clinical disciplines.
